QUALITY, SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY

El Colegio Arenas/Arenas Atlántico ofrece un servicio de cocina/comedor de elaboración propia.

The food we prepare in our kitchen is elaborated under strict quality and safety guidelines, in particular we focus on:

  • The use of fresh produce (99% of the fruit and vegetables).
  • Homemade recipes, including the preparation of sauces.
  • Healthy cooking methods that ensure flavoursome and well-presented meals.
  • A varied and nutritionally balanced menu.
  • A variety of meals for students with special dietary requirements with separate areas for food preparation and individually marked trays.
  • Rigorous health and safety checks: ISO 9001, HACCP, Food Safety and Hygiene Control. Specific Hygiene Plan, Risk Prevention Plan, Bacteriological Analysis.

HACCP

At school we have developed and implanted the self-monitoring system HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). This system dictates correct hygiene practices and essential procedures to ensure food safety. Internal checks are carried out daily. 
Our school also receives external health inspections, from experts in food safety who carry out regular audits and analyses.

The health and safety of our students and staff is one of our main priorities.

Our awareness of the importance of a balanced diet means that our meals are designed by experts and are based on the principles of the Mediterranean diet and specific dietary programmes.

Furthermore, our Occupational Risk Prevention Plan, in accordance with current legislation, guarantees the safety of our kitchen staff.
