From Bulgaria to Gran Canaria: science brings us together

👌🏼Today we welcomed a group of teachers to the school who are accompanying pupils aged between 12 and 14 from the Hristo Nikiforov School in Bulgaria on a visit to Gran Canaria

10 Mar 2026

enlightenedThe Bulgarian delegation has chosen Arenas Atlántico School as one of the leading educational institutions in the Canary Islands in the field of STEAM.  🤖 During their visit, they gained a first-hand insight into how we implement the STEM/STEAM approach in the classroom. Through various activities and tours of the school, the group was able to see how we integrate science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics into practical, collaborative and real-world learning experiences. Our students also took part in some of the activities, sharing projects, spaces and ways of learning.

At the end of the day, the delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and the visit, highlighting “how enriching it has been for students and teachers to gain an insight into the learning methodology and innovative practices we have developed at Colegio Arenas”. This was a highly valuable experience within the Erasmus+ project which, as they pointed out, contributes to the students’ academic and personal development.

🏝️This delegation has been in Gran Canaria since the 7th, and until 17 March they will be taking part in other scientific institutional activities on the island, with the Spanish Algae Bank, the Elder Museum of Science and Technology and the Taliarte Marine Science and Technology Park (ULPGC).

👏🏼👏🏼It has been a great pleasure for our educational community to welcome them and to experience a day of educational and scientific exchange that reinforces the value of international collaboration and intercultural learning.
