Music stimulates areas of the brain that control our attention and concentration skills and which are difficult to exercise through other means. It helps to improve memory skills and fosters creativity while also stimulating the development of motor skills and rhythm.
Additionally, it helps to increase children’s self-confidence and encourages their personal development as well as their social interaction skills.
For all these reasons, this subject is taught to students from just four months old until Primary year six in a fun and enjoyable way, where they learn through play and experimentation.
At our professional school of music, we teach students to play the violoncello using the Suzuki Method. This method works whereby students listen to the instrument and copy the teacher, while at the same time receiving support and encouragement from one of their parents who is expected to attend all classes, both individual and group sessions, in order to take notes and receive instructions about how the guide their son/daughter’s learning process.
Furthermore, both Arenas students and students from other schools have the chance to further their learning at the Arenas – Albéniz Professional School of Music. This is a Professional music school within Colegio Arenas which provides musical education in a vibrant environment and offers students the opportunity to participate in musical activities not only within the classroom but also on stage as individuals or as part of instrumental ensembles, chamber groups, orchestras and choirs; all of which helps to generate interest and enthusiasm, cooperative relationships and knowledge.
